Rockin’ to the MAX (er, MIXX)

I just want to give a “shout out” (don’t you love when I try to be hip?) to the MIXX Maker application. It rocks in a major way and I think it deserves even more love.

Now I should let you know upfront that I do know a few people who are involved with the application, but that’s not the reason I’m promoting it. The fact is it’s sooooo cool.

I’m 33 and was around for mixed tapes (if you want to know what that is, feel free to email me) which is what this application is based on. I loved making tapes for friends or getting tapes from others. Eventually those CD things came along (that’s right, Sonny, I remember it like it was yesterday…) and well, it became clearer and didn’t sound like 10th generation crap anymore, but something just wasn’t there…

Anyhow, the joy came back when I added this application to my Facebook profile. Essentially, you ask for a “theme” or “type” of music. As you can see from the above and below, those requests can be anything. Then you invite your friends (who aren’t irritated the way they were when you Zombie-bit them, because this one is such a useful application and they too love music) and they contribute songs to your “tape”.

I wanted music that was chill/lounge and I now have an album. These “MIXX”s are a great idea for parties or just a bunch of cool “soundtrack” type things for your daily life.

Wicked, radical and totally tubular!
